Metlab was founded in 1928 and acquired by current management in 1998.
What is your primary product or service?
Heat treatment of metals.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
By education and work experience - Degrees in metallurgical engineering, and extensive background in aerospace and heat treating industry, most recently with heat treat furnace manufacturers.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Metlab provides an extensive array of thermal processes some not offered by other companies in the area, in addition to pick-up and delivery. With some of the largest heat treat furnaces in North America, the company can process parts ranging from a few ounces or grams up to 50,000 pounds.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Metlab has one location - housed in a 120,000 square foot building in Wyndmoor (near Glenside), Montgomery County, PA. We are conveniently located to Route 309 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and offer no charge pick-up and delivery to customers in the tri-state area.
Provide detailed directions to your location
From Route 309, exit at Papermill Road and head west. Proceed two traffic lights to Cheltenham Avenue and turn left (south). Drive about a mile and a quarter to East Mermaid Lane and turn right. Proceed to the stop sign. This is Queen Street. Metlab is on the far, southeast corner.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The Managment team consists of Jim Conybear, Director of Operations, Mark Podob, Vice President, Marketing and Sales and Dan Krackovic, Plant Manager.
What are your hours of operation?
Metlab operates on a three shift basis; Shipping and Receiving hours are from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. with the office closed from 12:00 until 12:30 P.M.
